This is a collection of ten works created with acrylic and oil pastel, inspired by the process of a printmaking. Each piece explores the universal themes of transition, memory, and the complex relationship between leaving and returning home.
The imagery reflects my experience of being in my 20s-- leaving college, moving back in with my parents, and feeling torn between wanting to be with my family and spreading my wings. Small homes nestled in open landscapes, and the blue marks represent those moments of movement or stillness. These blue stripes asks the audience, “Are we leaving a place of comfort, or are we finding our way back to it?”
Through blended and layered colors, I wanted to create the sensation of a memory that feels alive yet difficult to remember. Making this collection felt similar to that idea. Each piece is a little different, like how memories change and grow over time.
Ultimately, this work is an invitation to pause and reflect on what “home” means to you. How it echoes in your life, and how it shapes your journey.
